Why the lapse, you ask?
Well, that’s what depression does to a person! One tends to withdraw from everything and the good habits tend to cease in the blink of an eye.
I have always turned to drawing, not just for the passion, but also to regain my sanity and strength. Drawing has guided me during many insufferable moments of gloominess. However, the depth of depression has sucked the goodness in me to the core; and I have no answer as to why I abandoned drawing for such a long period.
Nevertheless, I am now trying to do things that make me happy and help me keep my cool.
It is always Mickey Mouse to begin with! I drew the two famous Disney characters: Mickey and Donald. To begin with, I made my rudimentary attempt at scribble drawing and then gave the sheet a parchment look (used coffee decoction). I used a regular sketch book sheet and 0.2 Artline Marker for these drawings. I then laminated them using my iron-box. Now, I have made for myself two lovely bookmarks. Although, Donald turned out to be a little wonky - hm.. - that’s the whole philosophy - EMBRACE THE WONKINESS OF YOUR ART.
